Washington, Jan. 29: Actor Leonardo DiCaprio doesn’t think about awards while choosing a role, because he doesn’t believe that the honor of lifting Oscar trophies always goes to right person.
The Titanic star who has been nominated in the Best Actor category for his film Blood Diamond, believes that many times deserving actors have to return home empty-handed.
DiCaprio feels that an actor loses half the battle, the moment he starts pondering how the Academy members will react to his performance, which is why he never thinks about awards.
"I am quite young. The Academy Awards don't necessarily go to good work. They are a nice bonus and a lot of people think they are some plateau you need to reach in your work. But you have no control over that," DiCaprio said.
"To determine how an audience or Academy members are going to feel about your performance is a losing battle," he added. (ANI)
